Fiji has officially submitted its Updated Nationally Determined Contribution to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change on 31 December 2020, maintaining its climate commitment to the Paris Agreement for parties to communicate their NDCs by 2020.
In the updated submission, Fiji reaffirms its 2030 target, commits to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, communicates up-front information to facilitate clarity, transparency and understanding, commits to enact its Climate Change Bill by 2021 and aims to operationalize its National Adaptation Plan.
